Inclusion and Accessibility Advisor

Thalia Kiousi holds a degree in Philosophy, Pedagogy, and Psychology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (EKPA), with further training in Special Education and Vocational Rehabilitation and Social Integration for people with disabilities. She trains wheelchair users’ companions, works as a personal assistant for individuals with visual and mobility impairments, and is a trainee sign language interpreter. She is the co-founder of Career Sign, which specialises in career orientation and professional development for people with disabilities, and the co-founder of LGBTQIA+ Disabled People. From 2010 to 2023, she was an activist with Athens Pride, where she served as the Accessibility Officer and Communications Officer. Her work focuses on independent living, autonomy, and support for disabled people and other marginalised social groups. She currently serves as the Programme Manager for Inclusion at the NGO Me Alla Matia, works as an independent consultant for Inclusion & Accessibility, and as an Inclusion Trainer at Spotlight, a European company that provides training for corporate inclusion. She lives in Athens with her partner and their cats, dreaming of moving abroad soon. She loves travel and the author Tom Robbins, whose quotes she often shares: “A better world has to start from somewhere… why not from you and me?”
