Chryssella Lagaria was born in 1981 in Athens and has congenital blindness. She studied Psychology at Panteion University and has worked in various mental health centres and structures. She has received training in cognitive-behavioural therapy, group psychotherapy, as well as seminars in voice training, sound engineering, and radio production. From 2013 to 2017, she worked as a guide, Social Media manager, and trainer of blind tour guides in the interactive event “Dialogue in the Dark” at the Badminton Theatre. In 2017, she founded the Social Cooperative Enterprise (Koin.S.Ep) Black Light with a team of blind employees from Dialogue in the Dark, where she serves as the General Director. She has volunteered at the Touch Museum of the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece as a project promotion manager and from 2017 to 2023 worked as Project Manager and Secretary of the Board of Directors at the volunteer organisation “Reading for Others.” Since 2022, she has co-hosted the podcast “Zoume re” with Thodoris Tsatsos, which deals with disability issues on Lifo.
