K.E.E.P.E.A. “Horizons” has been supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families since 1997, offering lifelong education, support for independent living, and services for inclusion in the labour market. The organisation is based in the Municipality of Ilioupolis and has been operating a Day Care and Day-Care Centre since 2013, with a capacity of 104 individuals. In 2018, it established the Supported Living Centre “Open Horizons – Mary Vrettou”. Their vision is to expand the horizons of people with disabilities by enhancing their autonomy and providing them with equal rights and opportunities for participation in the community. Their activities have a nationwide scope and focus on empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families. At the same time, they actively participate in national programmes, such as the Operational Programme “Attica 2014-2020”, supporting social inclusion and the fight against poverty. Furthermore, since 2017, they have created a Social Cooperative Enterprise (KOINSEP) for Inclusion, aiming to support the employment integration of individuals with intellectual disabilities in collaboration with the Municipality of Agios Dimitrios and other local bodies.
